Improve PPE Protection Values by Layering Garments

Layered-Protection-1-smWhen certain tasks require protective clothing with certifications of Personal Protective Equiptment (PPE) Categories 2, 3 or 4, stopping to change is an inconvenience — not to mention the cost for additional outfits.

TenCate Protective Fabrics provides selections for layering for NFPA 2112 (flash fire) and to achieve the required levels for NFPA 70E (arc flash).

Several fabric combinations include TenCate Tecasafe® Plus as a base and outer layer for remarkable comfort while maintaining extraordinary protection.

TenCate Tecasafe® Plus incorporates Coolderm™ Technology. This enhanced comfort including Active Moisture Wicking is only multiplied when both layers use TenCate Tecasafe® Plus.

For example, several PPE 2 and all PPE 3 combinations listed use both, meaning that sweat would be pulled from the skin toward the outer most layer and disbursed widely in the fabric layers for maximum comfort.
